Standard Triumph

In August 1939, on the eve of the outbreak of the Second World War, Thos. W Ward, a Sheffield based engineering and steel-making company not previously involved with the motor industry, took over Triumph’s  assets and debts.  Using parts and partly built cars the company managed to assemble and sell and handful of vehicles before most of the workforce was dispersed on war work.
